It's Shrimp Time!
Del Taco Introduces New Baja Shrimp Taco and Burrito,
Gives Facebook Fans a Free Shrimp Taco
(LAKE FOREST, CA) Feb. 22, 2011 – It's that time of year to give a shrimp at Del Taco. Del Taco will again be offering its very popular crispy golden shrimp tacos and giving a free shrimp taco coupon to Facebook fans. This year, Del Taco is adding a new twist to its shrimp line up with the introduction of a new Baja shrimp taco and burrito.
“Our flavorful shrimp is something our loyal fans look forward to,” said John Cappasola, Chief Brand Officer at Del Taco. “Our new tangy Baja sauce adds another craveable flavor option to both our taco and burrito line-up, giving our customers another reason to believe Del Taco is the place for great tasting tacos and unbeatable value.”
The new Baja shrimp taco, at $2.19, features crispy golden shrimp, crunchy cabbage, fresh salsa and a tangy Baja sauce in a warm flour tortilla with a fresh lime wedge. The new Baja shrimp burrito, at $3.69, features crispy golden shrimp, crunchy cabbage, seasoned rice, fresh salsa and tangy Baja sauce in a warm flour tortilla.
Del Taco will also continue to serve its popular shrimp and fish tacos, and shrimp or fish & fries. Del Taco first introduced seafood tacos with the launch of the Crispy Fish Taco in 2005. With a hand-breaded fish fillet, crunchy cabbage, hand-made salsa and secret sauce, Del Taco’s Fish taco remains one of the most popular tacos served at the Mexican chain.
Facebook coupon offer is good while supplies last and valid at participating Del Taco locations.
Del Taco menu items are made fresh to order, and are prepared with many quality ingredients including lard-free beans made from scratch daily, real cheddar cheese grated daily, chicken grilled fresh every hour, hand-made salsa and fresh produce.
Del Taco has more than 520 restaurants in 18 states.

I know what I'm having for lunch of Friday!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can try their new Del Nachos too when you go.
ReplyDeleteEhhh. I dunno man. I never had their shrimp, but their fish ones? Bleah.
ReplyDeleteBut then again, that's why we call it Del Puko.
I can't remember the fish ones but I've had the shrimp ones a number of times. Fish tacos just seem hard to get right.
ReplyDeleteI actually really like the fish ones most the time. It really depend son how recent they cooked the fish. They are one of my favorites to get and I love fish tacos.
ReplyDeleteI like fish tacos too. I just can't for the life of me remember my opinion on Del Taco fish tacos.
ReplyDeleteI think Del Taco's fish tacos are some of the best around. You would not expect that. I am pretty picky about fish tacos too.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the shrimp tacos. I don't trust that the amigos in the back clean out that poop vein running along the back of each shrimp
Wouldn't that part of the process be taken care of before the shrimp ever arrives at the local Del Taco?
ReplyDeleteWell they are frozen breaded shrimp not much for the amigos to do other then toss them in the fryer!
ReplyDeletefor small shrimp like that, processors leave in the poop vein a lot of times. Break one open and see for yourself.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Maybe somebody can get photographs.
ReplyDelete...I think I need to make all the OC bloggers truly good fish tacos. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't get any complaints from me.
ReplyDelete@melissa: I never said they were the best fish tacos ever. I'd be more then happy to try as many fish tacos as you can make. Fish tacos are one of my most favorite things to get at any Mexican restaurant.
ReplyDeleteWow, this post is getting a lot of comments. I can work for a couple weeks on a big, full-fledged, bona fide restaurant review and not have anyone say a thing about it. But now I throw up a quick mention of a fast food item coming back and I'm already typing the 15th comment.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, Melissa, sounds like you're on for making some fish tacos.
And try to make it to the La Sirena Grill thing if you can.
Aw Dan, I know, I was teasing. :)
ReplyDeleteI love fish tacos a LOT, they're one of my favorite foods, period. I don't know how I'd really make them for everyone though haha.
And Christian - I'll do my best and will definitely tell you either way!
I'm going to jump in here and agree with the love for Del Taco's fish taco. Been a long time since I had one, but they were pretty impressive, as far as drive-thru seafood goes.
ReplyDeleteI might try the Baja one tomorrow.
