While looking for a Mexican restaurant that I could go to on a lunch break that wasn't in the city of Irvine I stumbled upon El Conejito in Lake Forest. With a name like El Conejito, though, I wondered if maybe it was a smaller version of El Conejo in Irvine (anyone know?). Since I was pretty hungry I ordered a bowl of albondigas soup, the chile relleno plate, a large Orange Bang!, and an apple burrito as a dessert. Everything was served on paper plates or in plastic bowls with plastic cutlery. The food was standard, but standard in a positive way. The apple burrito was stuffed with an apple-cinnamon filling, then fried, then topped with cinnamon and sugar. I only ate about two-thirds of it before I was stuffed.

For being a little better than its non-descript strip mall trappings would seem to indicate El Conejito earns a three and a half Speedy Gonzales rating:

I was wondering the same thing when I saw El Conejito driving by once. But there's probably no connection between El Conejo and Conejito.
I've seen an Albertito's and although it serves the same food in a similar environment as Alberto's, they aren't connected...at least not anymore (?)
This is the same company as El Conejo. They have take out menus with all the locations posted on them.
